As the sun painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, I found myself immersed in a haven of inspiration in the serene landscapes of North Wales. Sitting in a field, listening to the water flowing, deciding where to visit that day. The waters of the River Dee tranquil one day and rushing through the rocks the next. Llangollen beckoned us, wandering along the river banks, watching wildlife and admittedly a quick stop at a cake shop.
A Brush with Nature’s Canvas
Wandering along the banks of the River Dee, the scene unfolded like a picturesque painting before me. My family ventured down on the river stones, attempting to charm the resident ducks, while my giddy spaniel eagerly awaited her chance to splash into the clear waters. As an artist, I find I appreciate natures colours and textures much more than I used to unfortunately my spaniel does not value the water in the same way. For her, it is all about getting wet and muddy.
Timeless Wonder

Venturing further, we delved into the quaint charm of Carrog, where an arched bridge spanned the river. My children played nearby, constructing stone pathways, and laughing at their brothers and sister trying to lift a large stone. A beautiful family moment. Promptly followed by a bleeding finger, common sense says don't lift large rocks.

Dawn's Serenade
Rising with the dawn, I went for a quiet stroll with my furry companion, Poosie Spaniel. In the soft morning light, we witnessed an otter playing by the river, it was the first time seeing one in its natural habitat. The harmony of the rustling leaves and flowing water could quieten any noisy mind.

Where Peaks Kiss the Sky
While part of the family ventured to conquer the towering height of Snowdon, the rest of us basked in the sunshine powering over the hills and embraced the peace that surrounded us. Well, we would have if the boys weren't running about playing their own version of the Olympics. We enjoyed the sunshine and judged the Olympics, with our feet up and a cup of tea.
Artistry Awakens
As twilight painted the night sky with stars, we sat outside and reminisced over our few days away. My creativity fired up, I was ready to return to my art studio. My sketchbook was full of new drawings and notes, and a host of new photographs captured.
In the tranquility of North Wales, where rivers wind like serpents through emerald green valleys and mountains reach for the sky, life was perfect.
Unleashing creativity amidst nature's embrace, I returned home rejuvenated, carrying with me the memories of a family adventure that refueled me with artistic inspiration.
Let your spirit soar with the whispers of the wind and the songs of the mountains, for in the heart of nature lies the truest form of art.
