Why choose a commission?
Pets are much loved family members. Think of how a portrait will be a much loved gift. It could capture a moment time. You may have suffered the grief of losing your much loved best friend. I understand that it is heartbreaking. I can help create an incredible keepsake.
I am here to help and will guide you through the process, all I need is a photograph.

How to book your Pet Portrait
To start all you need to do is message me through the contact page and we can discuss your requirements.
If you have an idea what you want , with photo's already chosen then feel free to email your specifications and photo's. I can then let you know if they are suitable, make suggestions if needed and provide you with a timeframe.
If you wish to go ahead I will send an invoice for a 25% booking fee to hold your slot. The final payment is paid once the portrait is finished, before being shipped. Please see Terms and Conditions.
Choosing a Reference Photograph
You will need a good-quality headshot photograph of your pet. It is essential to capture the character of your pet through their position or facial expression. It is said that the eyes are the gateway to the soul so to capture this it helps to have a photograph that shows the eyes with clarity. Natural lighting works best for reducing strange shadows that may affect colouring, by a window or preferably outdoors with no direct sunlight is the best way to achieve the perfect photograph of your pet.
A clear photo will result in a better drawing. I use one main photo to draw from, but if you send me a selection, so I can get a sense of the pet’s character, that would be perfect.
If you are unsure whether your images are acceptable, please email me a selection of the ones you have, so I can offer any advice in capturing a better photograph and check if they are suitable to draw from. Holding a treat by your phone/camera can be a good way of grabbing their attention if they won’t keep still! Please send pictures that are original and have not been edited.
I understand that some of your pets are sadly no longer with us, but don’t worry, I will do my best to work with the photographs you have.
If you require further guidance please message me and I will do my best to help.

Prices
It is important to consider the size of the portrait ordered. Are the standard sizes suitable or would you like to discuss a size not stated or a different shape. Imagine how it will look. Is it being hung in a particular place or will it take pride of place on a console table? The scale of the portrait and the composition are important but the reference photo used will impact on these decisions.
I will always confirm the details of your commissioned pet portrait before I start it. If you change your mind on the size of the portrait before the portrait is started, that’s absolutely fine, but please give me as much notice as possible so I can work around it.
Prices are for one subject. Extra subjects can be added at an additional charge depending on the size requested.
